The Liquid Lowdown is back for it's first show of 2021, bringing that 'Drum & Bass of a Soulful Nature & a Deeper Flavour'

Headlining this very special show, is one of the most celebrated and recognised artists in the Drum & Bass scene -

Artificial Intelligence.

The formidable duo comprising of Glenn Herweijer and Zula Warner have been at the forefront of the Drum & Bass scene spanning almost 20 years, with a consistent discography of legendary tunes such as “Uprising”, “Bloodlines”, “Days Of Rage” and “Pass The Buck" (feat. DRS).

Their portfolio spans the very finest and most respected labels in the scene: Shogun, Exit, Commercial Suicide, 31 Records, Full Cycle, Soul:R, Goodlooking, V Recordings CIA, Innerground, Metalheadz, and their own imprint - Integral Records.

It was back in 2005 with "Desperado," Warner and Herweijer first hit international acclaim; their mesmeric tune was given Radio 1’s esteemed accolade: Number 1 Drum & Bass Tune of The Year and remains one of the greatest DnB tracks of all-time.

In that same year their single "Uprising" was voted by the public as the biggest DnB track of the year (BBC Radio 1)

Since then they have gone from strength to strength, including their 2020 EP 'Signs' (Metalheadz), in addition to their latest releases on V Recordings, and UKF, ensuring they remain one of the most respected DnB duos in the industry.

We are very lucky to have an international artist in the country during these unprecedented times, so this is one not to be missed.

Also on the line-up we have the head-honcho of the Liquid Lowdown, Chiccoreli alongside the first lady MC Tali, as well as Liquid Lowdown's Reubix, Rhyas & NZ producer O:bverse

It has been a YEAR. So we decided the best way to leave it on the most positive note was to bring back The Boog for our last gig of 2020. We've even got the old gang back together - Lucky Lance, Frank Booker, Kat Misa and Hudge will be filling the dance floor with the happy sounds of 80s boogie, funk, soul and disco till late late. We don't yet know if this is a one off or if The Boog is back for good so just get down here, get happy and dance the whole year off.

The Boog is Neck of the Woods' very own in-house club night - a happy, hedonistic throwback to the late 70s and early 80s and the music hiphop was birthed out of - disco, funk and soul but most of all, boogie. Every month we bring together some of the best DJs and selectors from all over the music scene to set the dance floor on fire with their favourite boogie tunes.

The Boog is all about good vibes on the dance floor and a room full of swaying bodies with enough space for everyone, so go ahead and leave any bad buzz at the door.

The Goods Entertainment Ltd, a women run Promotions Company have come together with the much appreciated backing of friends, Audiology and Neck of the Woods, to create an event to celebrate the raw talent, passion and energy women bring to the table regardless of how they wish to convey themselves.

The New Zealand Music scene for years, has been affected by unfair views towards women performers.

Double standards and expectations have been applied for what is deemed 'appropriate' and this simply cannot go on.

Due to this, regardless of their talent or their hard work, women have been consistently affected by sexual harassment and unfair judgement.

It’s time for change.

Purpose - Rory McDonald from Voodoo Bloo wanted to raise awareness and funding for Lifeline and will achieve this by performing charity gigs.

In July 2019 Rory’s friend took his own life and this affected Rory, his friends and family and everyone else in contact with them. Rory has made it his mission to do what he can to raise awareness for suicide prevention and build a community where people look out for each other and know they're not alone.

Rory himself has suffered with mental illness and has found ways with his music to overcome so difficult periods in his life. Please come along and support, so that we can all get together and help stop this from happening to anyone else.

After July's SOLD OUT show, the Liquid Lowdown is back once again, concentrating on "Drum & Bass of a Soulful Nature & a Deeper Flavour.

This time around we are very excited to bring you The incredible P-Digsss from NZ's Shapshifter. The vocalist from one, or if not the biggest bands in New Zealand will be bringing his own flavour of underground Liquid D&B mixed with live vocals from the man himself

Also on the lineup we have Graysound & Elipsa. Their track 'Shapes & Colours' has been on the George FM playlist since it's release with critical acclaim. Elipsa will be performing live vocals with Graysound in the mix.

Liquid Lowdown's head honcho Chiccoreli & Reubix will be bringing their own styles with up and coming DJ NGN completing a stellar lineup from the beginning of the night to the end

We have an exciting edition this time with the world famous 'Ghost Sound system' being installed in the club

Neck of the Woods, Coastal Promotions and Distorted Promotions Present: Deadline (Student DnB Night)

Two of the scenes most prolific student Drum and Bass collectives have joined forces with legendary venue Neck of the Woods to create Deadline (Student DnB Night). Its sole purpose is to ignite Auckland’s mid-week student nightlife and showcase the untapped talent that the scene has to offer.

Deadline is a monthly/bi-monthly event that aims to open up the wider student demographic to the sweet sound of Drum and Bass. Drum and Bass is arguably the biggest genre in the country, however, students typically categorised it by top 40 dance floor. Deadline mission is to change that ethos, by create a new generation of deeper Drum and Bass fanatics and involving a wide range of creatives from artists to photographers.

Join us as we try to re-invent the wheel of Auckland student night-life, while simultaneously creating a platform for the bedroom and student creatives of all avenues to shine.

This is just the first edition in our monthly/bi-monthly cycle!! To celebrate, we are running a Wildcard DJ competition for the opening slot.

Mazbou Q explodes back onto the live music scene in September with the much anticipated 2020 Icon Status tour.

In March, the Auckland based Nigerian rapper and producer, formerly known as Unchained XL, introduced his sonic and visual evolution with the release of his genre bending EP 'AFROTERNITY', which featured on both Spotify and Apple Music New Releases lists. Singles "To The Gates" and "Bad Energy" saw mainstream radio play on Mai FM and Flava and featured on official Spotify playlists The Local List and +64 Flow. 

The socially conscious rapper was one of the organisers of Auckland's first Black Lives Matter Protest on 1 June which attracted more than 20 000 people. This subsequently galvanised Mazbou Q into the spotlight, talking about issues that he’s always cared deeply about in interviews on international media outlets including BBC and Euronews, as well as numerous local outlets. 

The Icon Status tour will see Mazbou Q and his band deliver their trademark in your face, high energy performances that will be sure to leave your body exhausted and your mind fully engaged long after the final song has played.
