Liquid Lowdown + Fuzen present Halogenix (UK) - Matariki Special

Fuzen & The Liquid Lowdown is proud to bring you one of the leading producers & DJ's in Drum & Bass

Halogenix

With what has been a career filled with many eclectic styles of drum & bass, Laurence Reading is widely accepted as one of the most creative producers within the community. Halogenix has immersed himself in a foray of sounds throughout his production journey containing some of the most soulful, futuristic, and forward-thinking showpieces out there. A background in classical music combined with a sharp ear for thought-provoking concepts very readily transformed him into one of the most complete artists in the game. The unique innovation throughout the body of work he possesses is thoroughly recognised by everyone associated with the genre, holding him in the highest regard amongst some of the best creatives to grace the scene, over the course of the last decade.

The notable spell with supergroup Ivy Lab essentially put Halogoenix on the map, signed by Kasra’s infamous Critical Music label, they went on to release some of the most iconic projects in the scene. Their drive took them right to the very top of the experimental game, till the North Londoner decided to part ways and crucially embark on a solo career that would ultimately make him stand out from the crowd. To focus on his solo output, it felt necessary to take these steps, especially off the back of two exceptional EP releases, ‘Velvet’ released on Critical Music, which contains ‘Blej’ , one of the standout tracks on his discography. Whilst the other was the ‘Jumpsuit’ EP on Alix Perez’s hard hitting 1985. Having consistently worked with these two heavyweight labels over the years, this highly esteemed producer has been able to refine his sound and showcase some of the finest constructed sound design in the electronic sphere.

During his time as a solo artist he’s been able to work with some of the greats including the likes of Noisia, Goldie, dBridge, and Alix Perez – a real testament to the respect he’s earnt. In the early stages of this new chapter he’s currently embarking on, we can already denote that high calibre production is a given. In addition, the desire to release what he wants and market it how he pleases has now become a luxury he can afford. With the launch of his label Gemini Gemini he finds himself in a period of euphoria where he can unapologetically express the music to his taste. More recently, the ‘Lost Friends’ EP which pays homage to his close friend Ebow Graham who tragically passed away in 2020. This series of production demonstrated an empathy in his songwriting that is able to touch on trauma, creating a distinctive, immersive, sonic experience.

Alongside the man himself we have Liquid Lowdown's Chiccoreli, Button B & Foxglove

This show WILL sell out so secure your ticket NOW!

Wavyland present Bassvictim - AU/NZ Tour 2025

Moving parties in a major way from 2023 onwards with their unapologetically brash, post-trap "grunge and rap-rock synth pop sound within the indie-sleaze revival spectrum" sonics, Bassvictim have a debut Aotearoa headline date locked for at Tāmaki Makaurau's Neck of the Woods next month. The London-based project of Maria Manow (singing / rapping in English and Polish) and Ike Clateman, Bassvictim have rapidly built a fervent fanbase via back-to-back long players Basspunk (2024) and this year's Basspunk 2, featuring breakout anthems 'Air on a G String', 'Alice' and 'Canary Wharf drift'. Dirty Dike w/ Sammy B-Side: The Golden Lobster Tour

Brace your earholes and hide your seafood—UK rap renegade Dirty Dike is crash-landing in Australia and New Zealand this June and July with his most outrageous escapade yet: The Golden Lobster Tour.

Expect raw bars, surreal stories, and shellfish-related nonsense in this most rambunctious of live show experiences. Dike’s diving headfirst into chaos, claws out, dragging his trademark filth and finesse across every stage like a lobster through lager.

Riding shotgun on the decks is scene stalwart and turntable terrorist Sammy B-Side, dropping bangers and cuts rawer than sashimi in a back-alley bar.

It’s loud, it’s lewd, it’s lobsterlicious. Snap to it—this crustacean invasion won’t hang around, and you don’t want to be the soggy one left on shore.

Presented and supported by Who Knows and in collaboration with SMB Live alongside Aotearoa powerhouses Ghost Media & Everything Always, get in quick to secure your ticket!! Local supports to be announced.

Banished Music presents Rival Consoles (UK)

One of the UK’s most influential creators of electronic music, Rival Consoles, will return with a brand new album and Live A/V show in May 2025, marking a new chapter in an ongoing quest for refinement and evolution.

“Impossible to ignore, and hard to forget” Pitchfork

London-based producer Ryan Lee West, better known under the name Rival Consoles, is notable for making synthesisers sound human and atmospheric. Over the course of a critically acclaimed seventeen-year career, his music has diversified from the challenging electronic output of his early EPs, to gradually becoming more conceptual and metamorphic with his albums.

On July 4th Rival Consoles will release Landscape From Memory a brand new studio album on Erased Tapes, and present it with a unique live performance that will take the form of an immersive audio-visual experience in which he will also present material from across the last decade of his career and beyond. From deep ambient works to his unique version of techno, and traversing the vast spectrum in between, the show will be a long-form narrative of ideas, many heard live for the first time.

Cream presents camoufly (ITA)

Cream is excited to present camoufly

Saturday 19th April | 8:00 pm – 12:00 am

Support from: Morning After Chill & Matty The Friend

Beneath a blanket of electronic music artists who craft their careers by often investing in a single set of sounds and styles, lies a rather mysterious and peculiar character.

A shapeshifter capable of jumping from one style to another with seemingly no effort, yet at the same time able to interpret each of these musical genres in his own unique way. No one really knows who hides behind his mask - not even his whereabouts seem to be certain.

One thing is for sure: with a rare combination of creativity and innovation, camoufly is making his way at light speed in the electronic music scene.

From house to hyperpop, from trap to pop, with a particular style of arrangement, a dirty but refined sound register and a rare ability to mix samples in the most imaginative ways, camoufly seems to conceal the magic of a mythological King Midas in his art, and shows a kind of elegance that until now seemed to be exclusive to only a few names in electronic music.

With dozens of remixes and edits published online, and fresh from the release of his latest EP In Plain Sight, camoufly has rapidly earned the support of several household names in the electronic scene in just little less than three years.

But with his extroverted yet unpredictable nature, camoufly eludes anyone trying to predict his next move: we can't do much but patiently wait to finally see what the wonder boy has in store for us.

Nobody does it like Yung Singh. He stands as one of the most exciting DJs on the world circuit, having spent the last few years levelling up from local phenomenon to shining global star.

Friday 11th April | 10:00pm - 4:00am

Neck of the Woods | Auckland

With support from Caru, Calske & RNG+SUS

More about the legend Yung Singh himself!

Refusing to be boxed in by just one sound, Singh’s sets can vary from across the dance music spectrum to hiphop, rap and everything in between - all blended perfectly with his Punjabi roots. If the last 2 years are anything to go by, expect the unexpected at a Yung Singh set.

Awarded DJ Mag’s ‘Breakthrough DJ of the Year’ in 2021 buoyed by a string of viral moments - from an eradefining Boiler Room set to a spontaneous collaboration with singer Raf Saperra at Fabric that now sits in UK club folklore. Singh’s output has helped to re-energise the British Punjabi and South Asian music scene, with several stand-out performances at South Asian focused events cementing his position at the forefront of this resurgence.

Indeed, this ‘cultural responsibility’ has seen Singh contribute to numerous projects bringing to light Punjabi/Sikh & South Asian arts, history and culture. Keen to make sure those that came before are not forgotten - he partnered with the Ministry of Sound to produce ‘The Birth of Punjabi Garage’, a documentary about the much beloved but oft-forgotten sound brought back into focus after his scene shifting Punjabi Garage Mix. Singh has also collaborated with renowned Artist Jasleen Kaur to on sound design for her Socio-mobile exhibition, consulted on a BBC Radio 4 Documentary on Partition with Kavita Puri & hosted numerous screenings and panels with Brixton Community Cinema. In more recent months, a truly memorable BBC Radio 1 Residency has captured attention - just like his sets, Yung Singh’s creative output spans disciplines & art forms.

Showing his artistic range and sharp ear in new regions – with crowd reactions to match, Singh has established himself as one of the most sought-after club DJs & a festival circuit highlight. A position earned thanks to now legendary performances at some of Europe’s most respected festivals & clubs, including Horst in Belgium, to Barcelona’s Sónar, MELT in Germany, a memorable Glastonbury performance or two and, of course, a groundbreaking debut at Panorama Bar in Berghain to cap it all off.

With an unforgettable month long Phonox residency under his belt, alongside ferociously energetic shows on his “Global Gabru” tours, including yet another viral Boiler Room, Singh is well placed to continue his relentless trajectory as one of dance music’s most exciting names.

Now setting sights on to yet more regions, curating his own events and evolving his artistic practice, Yung Singh won’t be stopping anytime soon

Tom Lark - Moonlight Hotel Tour

Shannon Fowler has announced his second full-length album as Tom Lark, Moonlight Hotel, along with dates for his first live shows in Aotearoa since May 2024.

Moonlight Hotel sees the artist explore the parallels between his family's historical displacement following the 1929 earthquake that destroyed Murchison – a pioneer town in the upper West Coast of the South Island – and his own following the 2011 earthquakes that levelled much of Ōtautahi.

The second single from the LP, 'Rock & Roll Baby' is due out on 14 February and also captures a poignant acceptance of the unpredictability of a musical life. The track follows 'Dumb Luck', which was released in April 2024 as a sweetener for a UK tour.

'Dumb Luck' was the first taste of new material from Tom Lark since 2023’s Brave Star, the Ōtautahi-born, Tāmaki Makaurau-based artist’s debut album.

Earning him a finalist nod for the 2024 Taite Music Prize and Te Kaipuoro Taketake Toa | Best Folk Artist at the 2024 Aotearoa Music Awards, Brave Star was a return for Fowler – who had previously released two eponymous EPs before taking time out to work on his pop craft as Shannon Matthew Vanya.

Brave Star also won Tom Lark an APRA Silver Scroll Award Top 20 nomination in 2023, care of its second single 'Live Wires’.

Morning People Tāmaki Makaurau feat. Dick Johnson

Morning People present DJ and producer extraordinaire, Dick ‘Magik’ Johnson.

Hot on the heels of a show for 40,000 people as the musical director for Synthony, Dick Johnson plays Morning People, this time at Neck of the Woods. It's been two long years since Dick graced the Morning People decks in Auckland, and five even longer years since we were at Neck of the Woods.

Dick needs little introduction - he’s played to crowds from Russia to Argentina, he’s played shoulder to shoulder with some of the most respected names in dance music, and has remixed tracks for electronic luminaries including Fatboy Slim, DJ Sneak, Crookers, Claude Von Stroke, and Ian Pooley. A bona fide NZ dance music legend.

For those of you have sweated it out at a Dick Johnson set at 7:00am, you know this will be good times guaranteed.

In usual Morning People fashion, generous helpings of dance floor magik will be served alongside Altezano Brothers coffee, All Good Bananas, and Karma Drinks.

Expect sweat, spontaneous grins, freaky dance moves and possibly maybe even some fabulous pajamas.

Alcohol free, dress to sweat.

Phys Ed Pres. Objekt

Every exit is an entrance to somewhere else...

Phys Ed Presents: OBJEKT Live at Neck of the woods

Saturday March 29th
10pm - 4am

An incomparable force and vision of the future, Objekt proves time and time again to define the modern limits of dance music, continually twisting technology to speak with the vitality of the human spirit.
Come Saturday March 29th he joins the Phys Ed crew to deliver something special.

Objekt is TJ Hertz, a producer and DJ living in Berlin. Born in Tokyo to British-American and Filipino parents, Hertz grew up in Belgium and the UK before settling in Berlin in 2009. He first became known for head-turning club records, beginning with the self-released stamped whitelabel 12”s Objekt #1 and #2 in 2011, and following these up with a remix for Radiohead and releases
on influential dance music labels such as Hessle Audio. Shocking out to the disassembled dubstep contortions of Cactus and “Unglued”, the juddering mindmelt of Agnes Demise, or IDM headturner “Ganzfeld” became a familiar experience for a generation of clubgoers.

In parallel, Objekt has built a reputation as one of the must-see DJs of his generation. Selected as Mixmag’s DJ of the Year in 2018, he thrives in festival tents and sweatbox basements alike.
His DJing style is equal parts wild and laser-focused, making full use of technique and technology to surprise and entertain, while paying little heed to genre or BPM and feeding off spontaneity
and crowd connection.

Hertz’s DJing is also unpredictable: one night he might duck and dive through half a dozen genres in
pursuit of an unhinged party atmosphere (especially if he’s playing b2b with his dear friend and partner in crime, Call Super).
Another night he might guide you by the hand through a terrifying psychedelic wormhole of self-discovery. It’s these qualities thatmake his recorded sets so beloved – from his 2020 Essential Mix, to the widely-shared recording of his 8-hour set at New York clubbing institution Nowadays in 2021, to his 2016 mix CD for Berlin techno institution Tresor, Kern Vol. 3, which was described by
Resident Advisor as “a window into the very essence of DJing”.
