Strung Out presents YT (UK)

UK’s breakout rap sensation YT hits Australia & New Zealand this October

YT has carved out a lane entirely his own — a sound built on electrifying jerk beats, autotuned hooks that stick in your head, and a razor-sharp lyrical style that’s as witty as it is unapologetic. From his cult SoundCloud tape #SWAGRENAISSANCE to his viral hit “Black and Tan” with Lancey Foux, he’s established a distinctive British sound that’s turning heads worldwide.

In just two years, he’s gone from Oxford student to millions of streams and headline shows across Europe. Tracks like Prada or Celine and MVP have only fuelled the fire, and his latest tape OI! proves why he’s one of the most exciting voices in rap right now.

This October, YT lands in Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth for his debut shows in Australia & New Zealand. Expect raw energy, chaos, and the sound of rap’s next wave coming alive on stage.

2025 is already moving at full speed — and YT is only just getting started.

CHURCH Halloween

CHURCH CLUB presents Halloween!

Saints, sinners, witches, and wandering spirits! The altar is dressed, the candles are lit, and this year’s Halloween sermon is ready to set the night alight.

CHURCH is back for its annual queer Halloween ritual — a night where holiness meets chaos, and the dance floor becomes our chapel of camp. Whether you’re a terrifying temptress, a devilish daddy, or a creature from the crypt, come ready to serve looks that slay the soul.

This year’s poster art is blessed by Small Batch Pottery Co, whose Joker-faced nun brings just the right balance of reverence and rebellion. Consider it a divine omen to go bold, go weird, and go gloriously over-the-top.

Expect:
DJs curated by our Immaculate Mother of Audio Worship, Marjorie Sinclair
Special guest artists to be announced
Prizes for the most unholy outfits

Our pews are the dance floor. Our prayers are the basslines. And on October 18th, we gather to worship in the name of glitter and glorious queer chaos.

Electric Panther presents Vladimir Ivkovic

VLADIMIR IVKOVIC (SALON DES AMATEURS)

Some of our favourite dancefloor experiences over the years have been when we have experienced true cult underground heroes, and now we get the chance to host one of the best in Aotearoa for the first time, and in his only NZ date here in Tāmaki Makaurau.

VLADIMIR IVKOVIC is a DJ. He's more than that of course, but at his essence, Ivkovic is someone with a particularly unique talent for selecting records and weaving them into a larger and often unusually compelling narrative.

A selector's selector, he has become legendary for his adventurous, slow-burning sets. Industrial chug, heady drift, dubbed-out electronics: no matter what he's playing, he locks you into a deeply compelling trance.

Born and raised in Belgrade, he first dabbled in DJing as a teenager in the mid ’80s, but it was only after leaving Yugoslavia (to study in Germany) and later coming back for a summertime visit that he truly immersed himself in the craft, taking up position behind the decks during a series of impromptu parties at a lakeside restaurant run by his parents.

Eventually, Ivkovic found his musical and spiritual home at the legendary Salon des Amateurs, an unassuming spot in Düsseldorf that’s gradually proven to be wildly influential, giving rise in recent years to otherworldly talents like Lena Willikens, Tolouse Low Trax, Jan Schulte and many others, including Ivkovic himself.

With its small size, Salon des Amateurs provided something of an open platform, a place where true music lovers could experience DJs exploring sounds and genres that strayed far from traditional electronic dance music tropes. That same adventurous spirit has found its way into Ivkovic’s curation of Offen Music, a label he launched in 2015. Experimental Serbian rarities sit alongside ambient excursions and moody synth-pop in the label’s catalogue – the label’s open-minded approach and embrace of off-kilter sounds perfectly encapsulates Ivkovic’s artistic temperament.

In recent years, that temperament has increasingly found devoted followers all around the globe. Ivkovic has become a staple of the European club and festival circuit; despite his many years in the humble confines of Salon des Amateurs, he’s proven to be just as comfortable at celebrated settings like De School, Berghain, Dekmantel, Sub Club, Phonox, Fold, and others too numerous to list.

The much loved and sonically borderless Vladimir joins us in the NOTW basement for an extended 3hr set on the Ghost Soundsystem.

Spekki Webu is no stranger to limitless possibilities.
From Delft in The Netherlands, he shapes an ever-expansive musical realm, colliding the past & the present. High in energy but introspective in spirit, Spekki cultivates a sound that can be described as persistent and ritualistic. Whether in his DJ sets, live performances, or productions, he deconstructs time and space with fierce precision and tactility. As a composer and sound designer, he traverses multidisciplinary dimensions with his Signal Transmutations AV project and spatial installations presented at places like Lunchmeat, FIBER, De School, and Nxt Museum.

Blooom + En:vy - Auckland

FUZEN, LIQUID LOWDOWN AND DROPBASS PRESENT:

BLOOOM + EN:VY

WITH LOCAL SUPPORT FROM SLAPS AND TETHERS

BLOOOM

From a rural German town to playing stages around the world, Michael Schlechtinger – also known as Blooom, has had a meteoric rise. His journey began at an incredibly formative age: from fifteen, he immersed himself within electronic music, despite not even being allowed to enter club spaces yet. And whilst many of his counterparts have stories of finding a love for dance music through family ties, it was his own interests which drove him headfirst into the intricacies of music production.

Reflected in his influences, ranging from Skrillex to Noisia and Lido, Blooom’s artistic vision gets fuelled by an overarching aesthetic rather than just being based solely across different genres. The diversity of his sound – rooted in an American Hip-Hop addiction, mixed with his underlying penchant for pop music as well as a love for an enigmatic atmosphere – has gained him considerable attention. Besides winning a remix competition for Koven’s anthem “Gold” and thus releasing on labels such as Monstercat, NCS and Liquicity, he is already heralded by the likes of Andy C, Camo & Krooked, Friction, Holy Goof, Kanine, Fox Stevenson and many more.

With such high-ranking DJ support to now passing 10 million streams on his Spotify discography alone, Blooom’s name is quickly becoming one of the most hotly tipped currently moving through the ranks. Only just stepping out to show the world what he can achieve, this year has lined up more for his fans like never before, and Blooom is about to further solidify his place within the dance music annals.

EN:VY

Inspired by the likes of Alix Perez, Bredren, Calibre and Skeptical, Jean took up the craft of production back in 2016, having started spinning decks at only 13 years of age. In 2019 he then decided to pursue a degree for music production at BIMM in the Drum and Bass mecca Bristol. Precise, dark, mystic but melodic productions await, paired with both, minimalistic and rolling elements, they constitute a sound profile that goes full circle.

It wasn’t long before his early releases on Flexout Audio and Overview Music reeled in breakthrough support from top tier names like Arkaik, Bredren, Fre4knc, Halogenix, IMANU, Noisia, QZB and many others, underpinning En:vy’s challenge on Drum and Bass’s status quo. Thanks to his unique, but decisive style, he has been triggering goose bumps with his tunes ever since. His latest Binary EP released on Critical is just another testament to that. En:vy 22, is far from done.

Crystal Chen 'You can call me CC' Album Release Show

Join us on Thursday 25 September to celebrate Crystal Chen’s debut studio album ‘You can call me CC’, playing live and direct at Neck of the Woods.

‘You can call me CC’ is the debut album from Chinese-Kiwi singer, musician and visual artist Crystal Chen. Comprised of twelve songs that feel like handwritten journal entries translated into music, the album offers an intimate window into the emotional landscapes, foibles and humour that underpin the unvarnished realities of the metamorphosis of a woman who is the artist and muse.

The work of an old soul with a young heart, or perhaps an analog girl in a digital world, Crystal Chen’s debut album unfolds at its own unhurried pace. The album is influenced by Crystal’s love of jazz and soul, featuring a large ensemble of band members with band tracks recorded live at Roundhead Studios. This is the biggest collaborative project Crystal has worked on, alongside Tāmaki’s finest friends and musicians.

Crystal Chen and band features Joe Kaptein, Francesca Parussini, Ruby Walsh, Adam Tobeck, Michael Howell and Finn Scholes with special guests to be announced.

Broad Spectrum Music Vol.2

Broad Spectrum Music is back for a second night!

The first was a success beyond our expectations and so we've been working hard in the background planning the next entry in this series.

Musicially you can expect Minimal DnB, 140, Breaks, Dubstep and a smattering of subgenres peppered all the way through. Keep an eye on the line up for some returning faces and some new ones.

Production wise, expect something new, something different, something experimental. We came away inspired from the first and are going to roll in with what we hope, will be a unique experience but we'll keep details secret. We want you coming in surprised and delighted by what you find.

We'll also be establishing a flow zone again so bring your neon toys if you want to dance/express yourself to the music that way.

We'll be dropping the line up as we head closer to the event so keep an eye out for that.

As with the previous event, if you are in a financially tight point and want to come, please reach out. We are a community and we're here to provide an inclusive experience which includes making sure everyone has the ability to attend.

SYLC presents Coki (UK)

SYLC Presents: COKI (UK)

Get ready Auckland...

We have secured the one and only Dubstep pioneer, COKI for an intimate rave at everyones favourite K Road bassment, Neck Of The Woods.

Coki has made sine waves move like no other, architecting much of the sonic blueprint that modern dubstep - especially Tearout - has become evolved into. Coki has been there since the genre's inception and over the years, has only gone from strength to strength. Alongside Mala, he helped forge the DMZ sound and label, and he is now making his way to Auckland for a rare showcase of pure low-frequency warfare. Expect heavyweight pressure, bone-rattling subs, and that unmistakable Coki wobble - this is dubstep in its rawest form.

On support we have drawn three of the finest.

Opening up proceedings we have Pash (FKA Candi)! Candice is one third of the killer Norty Club Collective and a main stay of Aotearoa's bass music scene. Pash is an avid Dubstep DJ with respect for the culture and origins who blends the sounds of the roots with the freshest forward thinking cuts. Get down early for the perfect warm up.

Following that, we have Aotearoa's very own Tearout Dubstep king, Kyber. Deegan is coming in fresh off the back of his headline show where he recently shut down Neck Of The Woods. Since then he's only picked up more momentum with his Midnight Request Line rework getting seals of approval from the bggest in the game like Coki's bestie, Mala. His collab with Skream is still one of the moust sought after dubs around and is doing serious damage at some of the biggest stages around the world. Kyber's got plenty of forthcoming bangers and special dubs to share so don't miss out on this killer set.

Last but not least we have the Support Your Local Collective member, PL@ running a full vinyl set - expect rare white labels, heavyweight classics and a few wheel ups for good measure to close out the night.

We’re unbelievably excited to share this night with you all for a dance and are expecting this to be one for the books.

Secure your tickets now and don’t miss out on this special night of bass music with one of the founders of the sound!

Love,
SYLC

AKL: Morning People feat. Body Ocean

Morning People present house music heavyweights, Body Ocean!

With a string of releases on some of the most influential labels in dance music – think Size, Mad Decent, Dirtybird, Black Book Records, Box of Cats and STMPD RCRDS – Body Ocean are a dynamic force in electronic music. Their brand of kinetic house music fuses the organic and artificial, creating dancefloor moments that teeter between introspection and wild release.

Having remixed artists like Steve Angello, Alison Wonderland and Mija, Body Ocean bring a pulsing energy to everything they touch. Last time they played Morning People, they left the dance floor a sweaty mess - and we’ve been hanging out for a return ever since.

Don’t miss this rare chance to catch them playing before 8:00am, with a 360 degree DJ set up at the mighty Neck of the Woods.

In usual Morning People fashion, generous helpings of dancefloor magic will be served alongside Altezano Brothers coffee, All Good bananas, and Karma drinks.

Expect sweat, spontaneous grins, freaky dance moves and possibly maybe even some fabulous pajamas.

HARDPHORIA: R3VOLUTION

The third chapter of Auckland’s Hard Techno saga has landed. We are SO BACK

Jacquart & BIXNT, the French powerhouses who tore up our first two nights, are back to unleash more carnage. Their raw, untamed energy, straight from Europe’s underground, will make the city quake.

Joined by local heavyweights Dreadknot, VNESS, and Panadoll, expect 150+ BPM of heart-pounding Neo Rave, Schranz, Industrial, Rawstyle, Hardcore that keeps you raging from start to finish.

We’ve upgraded to Auckland’s iconic K Road venue, now with triple the capacity for more room to lose yourself in. Not to mention, there will be MORE STROBE and LASERS! ⚡️

The global surge of Hard Techno has found its home in Auckland, and we’re here to make it stay. History is calling — join the R3VOLUTION.

SYLC x Norman Foreman present EBB (1985)

Support Your Local Collective & Noreman Foreman are proud to present Ebb at Neck of the Woods!

The badman from Ōtautahi is making his long awaited return to the City of Sails, stacked with a bag full of the freshest tunes from around the global scene and a forthcoming joint EP with none other than Alix Perez on 1985 for our listening pleasure... there ain’t a better way to get a preview than on the Ghost System!

Guy is certainly one heck of a producer, with releases across some of our favourite labels in dance music - both domestically and internationally - but if you haven’t caught a set of his yet, he’s equally talented behind the decks bringing a free party energy to the club: think the darkest sounds in Dubstep mixed into thrashing Tekno. We are sure you’ll be leaving amazed from this set. Also, this will be the last chance to catch him here for a while as Ebb’s long awaited European debut is on the horizon.

Get down early and stay late as Guy’s set is certainly not all! On support are some of the finest crews from across the nation bringing their A Team to throw down: Anti Dawn, Noreman Foreman & SYLC – all around, a dope showcase of top talent in our local scene. Each of the crews and Guy will be playing hour and half sets to display their wicked sounds from 10PM - 4AM.

July's about to get a whole lot more hood..

Charlie Shell is set to tear the roof off of Neck Of The Woods at the Auckland stop of his “HITZ 4 THE HOOD” Tour. Despite being a relatively fresh face in the Australian scene, Charlie has experienced a meteoric rise in 2024 with close to 2m Spotify streams and recent release support from big players like DJ Seinfeld, Diffrent, Badger, Main Phase & DJ EZ.

His most recent release, “HITZ 4 THE HOOD” which came out on Luude’s new record label - No Instruction, has quickly garnered huge international support with co-signs from artists like John Summit and accolades such as topping the Beatport UKG chart!
